Protect Yourself from Internet Phishing

Phishing is one of the fastest growing internet fraud scams. This scam uses a bogus email to trick consumers into sharing their personal financial information such as social security numbers and bank account numbers including their passwords.

Financial institutions, government agencies, retailers and many other organizations have seen their website graphics, corporate logos and other materials stolen by people intending to cause harm.

These emails often look very professional and legitimate. Please take the highest precaution if you receive an email doing the following:

  • Asks for personal private information such as your bank account number, an account password, credit card number, PIN number or Social Security number;
  • Fails to address you by your name;
  • Warns that if you do not comply, your account will be shut down unless you reconfirm your financial information; and
  • Has spelling or grammatical errors.

MagnetBank does not send emails to our customers requesting personal financial information. Protecting the privacy and confidentiality of your personal information is important to our employees and to us. It is our standard practice to safeguard your information with the highest level of security.

If you believe you may have compromised your personal financial information through a Phishing scam or any other means, please contact us immediately at 877.748.8273.
